The Wrath of Gods

Once upon a time, there was a Yogi. After having enough drama in his life, He decided to stay away from the humans and live a life true to himself and stay away from the drama of this worlds. He travelled far far away into the woods, crossing villages, rivers, mountains and valleys. He set his new home surrounded by mountains and Forests and rivers, So that No one can easily go to him without a sacrificing atleast some of the worldly pleasures. He just wanted to lead a peaceful life. He instructed to his beloved ones to stay away from his new home, well upon request, he agreed they can visit him once in a year during the fall season. His life was quite filled with drama of women and he also told not to bring the ladies to his home who are in menstrual cycles.
The once upon a time mentioned happened about 12 centuries ago.  Him new home was beautiful in the middle of the forest and made on an elevated platform to stay away from the animals. It had a very narrow entrance and step steps so that its is bit hard for animals to easily jump in. He had a swimming pool as well in the middle of the forest. The air was fresh, forest was lush and water was sparkling. Life went on very well and he finally abode to the heavens as a normal human.

Meanwhile, His beloved ones followed his instructions and just visited him once in a while. Centuries passed away, Ones he abode no one really went in there, but still his successors went on hunting in the forest and used to go to his place just as a visit. They payed tribute to his place their and his family. At there started the great Hindu culture of seeing a different person from the society as God. Subsequently, over the years, it became a practise to visit the place again during the fall and pay tributes.

Centuries passed away, the hunting procession changed to procession to pay tribute to the God. Hunting became a less priority and paying tribute and prayers had become more important. Then came the 20th century with a lot of new machines, logistics options, Electricity and communication options. The procession of paying tribute had drawn more and more people. A few people only visited the ashram in the beginning of the century and by the end of the century it became millions.

By 21st century the tiny little settlement on the forest which was made above 12 centuries back became a city in the middle of the forest. Millions are coming to the city to visit the place. Concrete building, Neon Lights, Lots of restaurants and the place became the most happening city of the time. When too many people come to a place, too much money will also come. The money brought business, businesses flourished. Money went to the State treasury.

All these years, the basic request set by the Yogi was followed, Visit one in while and not to bring ladies in menstruation. The 21 st century woman equipped with new tools of the age felt this to be injustice to their mensuration skills. They fought this legally as the forest became part of a country where secularism is a basic right. Well, as per the books, the ladies do have a right to be secular, so the law agreed to let the ladies visit the city of the forest. The state supported the law of books and let the ladies fight and even secretly enter the old home. The state was ran by a government who has least respect to the Hindu culture and tradition. Struggle erupted between those who wanted to ladies to go in and those who did not want the ladies to go in. The state government enjoyed this fight for a while.

Well why would the Ladies be banned from visiting the Yogi, Is it because the Ladies in menstruation are impure or is it they are non hygienic for an age of that time or is it they are too manipulative. It is a fact that the Menstruating women are a hormone factory and their emotions are largely affected by mensuration cycle. Most ladies will agree that they have mood swings, short tempers as per the stage of the Cycle they are in. The way the ladies understand and process the information anyone feeding them is based on the mood they are in. This may make them look manipulative. The nicest words told to them may sound sarcastic to them, the harsh words told to them may sound lovely.

For a simple yogi who wished to stay away from the worldly drama, it may have become too much to digest and process the relation around with ladies, though he is said to have two wives. Even he didn't want the ladies from the outside world to come to his forest settlement and enlighten his wives about the worldly pleasures available outside the forests. He just wanted to stay away from the worldly pleasures and drama. He might wanted to limit the number of ladies coming from outside the forest and talking to his ladies and comparing the facilities they have. He just wanted to lead a peaceful comparison less life ahead in his life and he tried to limit the worldly connections by staying away geographically from the world to the deep forests. Now, look at the humans equipped with the 21th century technologies, they can trace your place, make it a city, use your name and fight against each other for a reason which you made for yourself to stay away from the worldly pleasures. You must be feeling so pity of them.

The religious traditions if cast one person as a God, then the followers will actually be blind folded to their gods, they follow the books or the saying of the God to every word and anyone who tries to stop the Gods willing or act is believed to receive the Wrath of the Gods. The Wrath of the Gods is not an act of the God by itself, it is the believers collective which become a Wrath to the person or entity who is against the Gods wish.

The once beautiful forest settlement is now a city with Concrete buildings, Concrete and Bitumen paved roads, Polluted rivers, Miss managed garbage system, sewer and drainage systems, Light pollution in the night to an extent to stop the beautiful little stars of the sky from being visible. Managing the activity of millions of people coming to a forest settlement without affecting the nature is  a herculean task, but it is possible with a lot of engineering options available these days.

The protests happened in the 2018 for the women to enter Sabarimala. Same year the land was washed away with floods from monsoons. In 2019 also, floods repeated and Corona started in 2020. Is this the Wrath of Gods or the wrath of followers of the Gods.
